Soon, Barry Ritholtz Won't Leave Home Anymore

Today, Barry Ritholtz announced his latest entertainment technology acquisition:

Sony Bravia V-Series KDL-40V5100 40-Inch 1080p LCD Flat Panel HDTV & Sony BDP-N460 Blu-ray Disc Player Bundle The TV in the bedroom — the one we got as a wedding present 17 years ago — started giving out a month or two ago. Its now in its final death throes. We should really put her out of her misery, and put her down . . . Its the humane thing to do.

This gave me an excuse to upgrade to a decent size flattie. Left to my own devices, I can go a little over the top. The bosslady makes me keep it modest and and reasonably priced.

I stumbled across this combo on Amazon (it was also on sale at J&R) — and it fit what we needed perfectly:

Sony Bravia V-Series KDL-40V5100 40-Inch 1080p LCD Flat Panel HDTV & Sony BDP-N460 Blu-ray Disc Player Bundle

Total price: $853.00 + including free shipping

I thought that was a good deal for a bedroom set (where I prefer not to watch hi-def movies or sports). I’ll move the Blue-ray player to the den, where it will keep company with one of my favorite toys, and I'll use the regular DVD in the bedroom.

I ordered the Sony combo last night . . .

Given Barry's love of all things technological, we suspect it won't be long before he has a working version of these high-tech bedsheets (HT: Core77):

iPod Touch Bedding

In case you missed it, the Swedish store, Ellos Online, has literally put a new touch on sleeping. For a mere $49, this iPod Touch bedding set will let you have your technology and sleep with it too. And we happen to think it pairs perfectly with the Pause Bed (made of sustainable rimu wood). We've already picked out the perfect play list!

Forget not leaving home - once he has these, he may never get out of bed again!
